More about Mount Gambier

Calendar

Play is The Way

Our school is a Reception to Year 7 Primary School located in Mount Gambier, South Australia. It has an enrolment of approximately 315 students and 55 staff members. We have a very collaborative, close knit staff who support one another, parents and students alike.

We engage all learners through experiences beyond the school boundaries, with our bus constantly on the road. Our multi- cultural community includes aboriginal students and humanitarian refugees. We provide four New Arrivals Classes with a Bilingual Support worker, and employ an Aboriginal Education teacher and an Aboriginal Community Education Officer.

We celebrate diversity and social awareness by offering two dedicated classes for children with a range of special needs and disabilities, and work closely with the Gordon Education Centre to ensure effective transitions when desired. We provide specialist Physical Education and Music Programs. All children participate in instrumental music, dance and performances.

Regular Active After School Programs, Out of School Hours Sports and Pedal Prix Programs develop a child’s physical and emotional wellbeing, while our Landcare area provides opportunities for environmental awareness, learning and action.

The school was opened in 1961 and joined Partnership 21 in January 2001.

Acacia Kindergarten has joined our school site at the beginning of term 3, 2003.
